Simply put, it is happening now! ”
It is the first point in Guaranteeing Access in the BBC’s Quality First -

“Making internet connected television a reality and a success, and continuing to support other partnerships for free-to-air platforms"

There are several key factors unique to the UK which will lead to mass-market adoption of these devices. You may know its as Canvas, or HbbTV or D book V 7 or See-saw … but it is coming all too soon as Britain’s digital switchover will prompt millions of analogue video recorders to be replaced with broadband connected Freeview PVR devices before the Olympics in 2012.

But what does it means for the content creators owners and everyone else in the media food chain – ending with the viewers?
