The North East & The Border Centre caters for the broadcasters, freelances and students of the North East of England and Cumbria. Most of our meetings are in the Newcastle area, but we also hold events in Teesside and Carlisle. The majority are on weekday evenings, but on occasion we ring the changes with weekend or daytime meetings. We aim to provide a mix of topics to suit everyone interested in Television in the Region, at whatever level. Click the on the Events button on the left for the latest details — visitors are always welcome.

Our annual North East & The Border Centre Awards Dinner is now an established high point in the region's television year. The 2009 Awards were held at The Sage, Gateshead on Saturday 27th February, and you can find the Results via the special link on the left.  Results for previous years are in the Awards section.

The Reports section includes events reports and selected Centre meetings reports — you'll find it under the Events link on the left.  The 2009 Chairman's Annual Report is available through this link.

The RTS considers it essential to encourage and foster the next generation of television practitioners.  The North East & The Border Centre's Young People's Media Festival is an important event in the regional calendar.

The Trailers page introduces our monthly hard-copy newsletter, but in downloadable full-colour form.  However, this printed version has now reached its last edition, and we are working to establish an alternative online version, as well as compiling an electronic archive of the last few year's worth of issues.  The latest developments will be announced on the Trailers page.

Our Creative Forum is a place for television practitioners to exchange their own personal Hints and Tips — those pet ideas and discoveries that make life in the business just that little bit easier. Visit the Creative Forum to read what others have offered... and why not submit your own?

Sadly, not even the TV 'greats' (both sides of the camera) can go on forever, and from time to time we lose an old friend.  Our Tributes section gives friends and colleagues a chance to say publicly just why they were great.
