The Hargreaves Report – you need to understand it

So you’ve written that killer app and want to protect your property.

You have developed some software and want to sell licenses for others to use it.

But how can you do this and protect yourself?

In the USA recently, draconian laws were proposed to curb piracy over the internet however the outcome would have been to stifle innovation and free speech (The Stop Online Piracy Act - Sopa).

The Hargreaves Report made some far-reaching recommendations for changes to the laws on Intellectual Property rights protection which aim to make both of the above easier without stifling innovation, so as to allow the creative and manufacturing industries room

to innovate and therefore increase their contribution to economic growth of the UK.

A consultation has recently been announced to seek views on the Government’s proposals for implementing a number of the recommendations.

In addition Richard Hooper is leading a feasibility study on developing a Digital Copyright Exchange in the UK - one of the main proposals in the review.

Come and hear what these changes could mean for your business. You need to understand it.

Experts taking part –
