BREAKING INTO MEDIA
Monday 14th November 2011 at Plymouth University
The annual Breaking into Media event is run in association with Plymouth Media-Partnership during Global Entrepreneurship week. The event features 3 sessions this year:
"Secrets of a Hotel Inspector" will explore how this long running series was commisisoned, and ask how has it developed over seven series? How hard is it to persuade hoteliers to reveal their faults before the TV cameras? And how did the team cope when their star presenter was poached by another channel after three series? In this light-hearted panel discussion, members of the production team will explain how each programme is made and will reveal the successes and the challenges behind this award-winning series.
Also included in the day is the extremely popular "Getting in & Getting on" session which will feature a panel of speakers actively working in the sector who will give their top tips on getting into the industry and progressing a career. There will also be representatives from a range of employers available for students to talk to during the day.
There will also be an opportunity to celebrate student successes as the RTS Devon & Cornwall Centre student awards are announced at the event.
