In Conversation with… Cilla Black OBE
Our Christmas Lunch this year will be held at the House of Lords in the attractive Cholmondeley Room and the terrace overlooking the Thames on Friday 5 December; it should be a special event. Our guest will be Cilla Black, who will be receiving the first ever RTS Legends Award. She will be talking about her fifty years in the television business, at first with the BBC and then for many successful years with ITV, where she became one of the most popular and, reputedly, the most highly paid entertainer on British television.
Our last meeting at the Lords three years ago was heavily oversubscribed so you are advised to respond promptly, to avoid disappointment! The event has been kindly sponsored by Baroness Benjamin OBE, whom many of you will remember from her days in front of camera on Playschool. Floella has also had a long and successful career as an actress and presenter in UK television, spanning from the mid 70s to the present day.
It promises to be a very enjoyable event to lead off the festive season. After the vivid reminder of the earliest days of her career in ITV's recent drama, Cilla, we can expect some fascinating insights and anecdotes during post lunch conversation.
Tickets are £60.00 inc VAT (£50.00 + £10.00VAT), per person and are inclusive of service but exclusive of beverage. Drinks will need to be purchased from the bar.
