The Centre organises RTS events across the South and acts as a forum for discussion and debate on all aspects of television and the community. It is also responsible for the RTS Southern Centre Professional and Student Awards presented in February of each year. The Centre is run by a committee who have a professional interest in Television.

Peter Kosminsky discusses the making of Wolf Hall, his TV drama about Thomas Cromwell’s rise to power in the court of Henry VIII. He also reflects on a distinguished career making TV dramas which ask awkward questions. These include The Promise about the Arab-Israeli conflict, The Government Inspector on the death of Dr David Kelly and Britz which attempted to understand what would lead a second generation Muslim to turn against the country of her birth.
