The Bafta-award winning genealogy show, where celebrities trace their lineage with the help of experts will return to BBC One later this summer.

This year’s line-up of history hungry stars includes British actress and newly minted star of The Crown Olivia Colman (Broadchurch), pop icon Boy George, comedian Lee Mack, former JLS member Marvin Humes and Our Girl actor Michelle Keegan.

Olivia Colman will journey from Norfolk to India, embarking on the discovery of a diverse heritage and Lee Mack’s investigation uncovers that comedy runs in the family.

“Britain’s best loved stars are once again delving into their family trees, uncovering hidden secrets and solving mysteries,” said Colette Flight, Executive Producer for the production company Wall to Wall, who produce the series, “The stories they unearth are revelatory, often unexpectedly humorous but always affecting.”

Other participants are Strictly Head Judge Shirley Ballas, Paralympian Jonnie Peacock and television personality, barrister Robert “Judge” Rinder.

Michelle Keegan’s episode, in which she discovers a special connection to suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst, will also launch a new series of programmes to mark the centenary of some women in the UK being granted the right to vote, called the Hear Her season.
