Channel 4 Factual have commissioned an original drama about a 27 year-old women exacting revenge for her teenage self.

Shamed (w/t), which stars Game of Thrones actress Faye Marsay, centres around the cool and calm Sarah Ivy, whose world collapsed around her 10 years previously.

With the help of her brother she kidnaps two men, Nathan (Nick Blood - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Mani. The duo claim not to know Sarah or what she would want with them, however a connection is soon revealed...

Unusually, the show has been commissioned by the Channel 4 Factual department. Speaking at an RTS event in 2016, Channel 4's former Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt highlighted the importance in interdepartmental cooperation to the corporation. "Working this way, we can be more sensitive to different taste, quicker to tease out problems, more confident pressing go," she said. "Thinking differently has led to a higher number of shows that feel genuinely original."

Channell 4's Head of Documentaries Nick Mirsky agrees with Hunt. "This is a modern revenge story brilliantly crafted with a mixture of documentary curiosity and dramatic intensity. I am really proud to have it coming from the documentary department".

Shamed writer and director, Anthony Phillipson says: “I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity by the factual department to write and direct my first ever single drama. It’s an important story that deals with a very modern phenomenon but with a surprising and dramatic interpretation.”
