Three new cast members will take part in the fictional crime saga series

Filming begins in Birmingham this week for series three of post-war gangster drama, Peaky Blinders.

Three more actors are to join the BBC cast

They are Pride’s Paddy Considine, Last Resort’s Dina Korzun and Cordon’s Jan Bijovet.

Cilian Murphy who resumes his role as gangster Tommy Shelby said: “It’s the sign of a great show when by the second or third season it’s richer than ever. The writing this year is the strongest it’s ever been. It’s off the charts.”

The new season will see Shelby involved in international conflict and crime that puts his organisation and family at risk in 1920s Britain.

Though not much has been revealed about Considine's character, it is believed that he will play Murphy's gang leader enemy.

It is speculated that Legend star Tom Hardy will also play a part in series three, as Alfie Solomon.

While its release date has not been launched, the RTS award winning programme will be back on our screens early next year.

Viewers will be able to watch the six part Tiger Aspect drama on BBC Two.
