Former Walt Disney Company SVP to take up new role in March

The Royal Television Society, leading forum for television and related media, today announces the appointment of Theresa Wise as Chief Executive. Theresa has twenty five years’ experience working across the television, broader media and technology sectors.

At The Walt Disney Company, she was Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  In this role, Theresa led TWDC’s evaluation and execution of acquisition transactions in the EMEA region across all of the Walt Disney Company businesses.

Theresa joined Disney from Accenture where she was Partner in the Media and Entertainment practice. While there, she was responsible for developing new clients in the media and entertainment sector.

Prior to Accenture, Theresa worked at Deloitte Consulting, British Satellite Broadcasting and BT.  She graduated from Oxford University and completed her MBA at the London Business School.

I am looking forward to working closely with the Trustees, RTS Team, Regional Centres, members and patrons to take the RTS into its next phase.”

Theresa takes up her appointment at the beginning of March 2013.

The Society is an educational charity, embracing all aspects of television, including the creative community, broadcasting, equipment manufacture, professional consultancy, journalism, design, research and development, cable, satellite, video and interactivity. The Society relies for its future on the contributions of individual members and corporate Patrons. Individual membership is available from £65.00 per year.
