BBC One has released an action-packed new trailer for the new drama series SAS Rogue Heroes, written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Based on Ben Macintyre’s novel of the same name, the six-part series stars Connor Swindells (Sex Education), Jack O’Connell (The North Water), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Sofia Boutella (Climax), and Dominic West (The Pursuit Of Love).

SAS Rogue Heroes tells the story of how the SAS was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of WWII.

Swindells leads as David Stirling, an eccentric young officer hospitalised in Cairo, 1941, after a training exercise goes wrong. Convinced that traditional commando units are failing, he creates a radical group of the boldest, toughest and brightest soldiers that form a small undercover unit causing mayhem behind enemy lines.

More rebels than soldiers, Stirling’s team are every bit as complicated, flawed and reckless as they are astoundingly brave heroes.

SAS Rogue Heroes is coming soon to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
