Blind Date to make a comeback after 13 years

Forget swiping right and left because Blind Date is making a comeback on Channel 5.

Blind Date began in 1985 and was hosted by Cilla Black for 18 years on ITV. After a long 13 years, Channel 5 are bringing back the much-loved dating show, in a new revamped format.

The show is expected to air on Friday nights, with plans for it to be back before the end of 2017.

Blind Date joins a few old television formats to be revived such as the one-off special of Blankety Blank on ITV hosted by David Walliams over the Christmas period. While, Channel 4 recently announced it would be bringing back the Crystal Maze for a new series, hosted by comedian and actor Richard Ayoade.

The show will be produced by So Television, who also makes The Graham Norton Show for the BBC and is Graham Norton's production company.
