Adapted from the 2021 children’s book of the same name by David Walliams, and a sequel to the movie Gangsta Granny, the TV special is set a year after Ben (Archie Yates) has lost his much-loved gran.

Ben is still learning to adjust to life without his gran and has fond memories of their Crown Jewel heist.

When he learns about another string of thefts occurring, which all point to The Black Cat aka Granny, Ben embarks on another adventure to unravel the mystery as to who The Black Cat is.

The first look image was shot on location in North London and features David Walliams as dad Mike and Sheridan Smith as mum Linda.

The rest of the cast includes Kevin Bishop as Italian dancer Flavio, Maggie Steed as Queen and Griff Rhys Jones as Mr Parker.

Gangsta Granny Strikes Again! will air on BBC One, CBBC and be available on BBC iPlayer.
