ITV has announced that the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will take place in North Wales at Gwrych Castle, Abergele.

Due to the pandemic, filming has moved from its usual location in New South Wales, Australia, to North Wales in the UK.

The historic Gwrych Castle, also known as ‘The Showpiece of Wales’, is built into a tree-lined hillside that overlooks the Welsh countryside and the Irish sea.

The grounds spread across 250 acres, providing plenty of space for the celebrities' trials and tribulations.

Dr Mark Baker, Chair of the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust, said, “I’m absolutely delighted that I’m A Celebrity has chosen Gwrych Castle to be its UK location for the 2020 series.

“Gwrych Castle is a beautiful grade I listed 19th county house and a must-see destination for tourists visiting Wales.

I’m A Celebrity being here will really help support Gwrych Castle and its ongoing restoration as well as giving the region a much-needed economic boost.”

Ant and Dec will return to host the adapted edition of the series, presenting live every night from the castle.

Although spared the Australian jungle’s unique challenges, the celebrities will have to undergo those just as gruelling to stand a chance of being crowned King or Queen of the castle.

The 20th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will air on ITV in autumn 2020.
