ITV has confirmed that its middle-aged romance reality show, My Mum, Your Dad, will return for a second series in 2024.

The hit format sees the wholesome role-reversal of a group of twenty-something children overseeing their single parents as they take their first tentative steps back into the world of dating.

With such cross-generational appeal and reality TV icon Davina McCall as host, the debut series received an average of 2 million viewers across all devices.

Going forward, the format will remain the same. A new bunch of singletons will head to a luxury country retreat to try and find love, while their grown-up kids will take a front row seat in the surveillance room (dubbed the 'Bunker') and watch (or cringe) along.

At the end, they will have to decide whether to give their blessing to any potential matches.

Paul Mortimer, ITV's Director of Reality and Acquisitions who commissioned the series, commented: “The positive reaction to series one was unprecedented in my experience. From widower Roger finding new love, to the grown-up kids cringing in the secret Bunker as their parents dusted down their dating moves, this was a fresh and welcome take on TV matchmaking.

"I'm so pleased to be able to once again open the retreat to more single parents in 2024.”

My Mum, Your Dad was created by father and daughter Haley and Greg Daniels, and has now been commissioned in 10 territories.

Casting for the 2024 UK edition is now open for adult children to nominate their single parents.
