Sky and MAMA Youth Project’s award-winning, six-week, intensive training programme is now open for applications.

The programme aims to tackle inequality in the digital sector, targeting 18-30 year olds who may have had limited educational and employment options, giving them the experience they need to open doors in the digital media sphere.

Successful applicants will work at Licklemor Productions gaining valuable hands-on experience in digital content creation. Participants will also learn CV tailoring skills and interview techniques, and receive career mentorship and peer networking opportunities.

After completion, the trainees will receive benefits such as talent manager support, industry professional mentoring, and access to work opportunities with industry partners such as Sky; as well as joining a prestigious pool of MAMA Youth Project alumni.

Previous alumni includes Production Coordinator for Sky Original Productions Dominic O’Neill. O’Neill joined Sky directly after his training and, he says, "we had technical and theory experience and learnt how the structure of productions work. It was such a fast-paced environment... I was just so shocked how much I learned in a short amount of time.”

MAMA Youth Project's CEO & Founder, Bob Clarke, says: "Building on over ten years of partnership, Sky is committed to helping MAMA Youth Project bring its impactful training opportunities to underserved communities across the UK as part of Sky Up, Sky’s £10 million commitment to tackle digital inequality."

The training will begin in July 2023 for six weeks, and will take place in Manchester at the University Academy.
