The Last Leg of the Year

Channel 4, 9pm

Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker ring in the new year with a Last Leg special looking at the good, the bad and the ugly of 2022.

The trio are joined by Rylan, Sue Perkins, Ellie Simmonds, Desiree Burch, Tom Davis, Mike Wozniak and Baroness Warsi for a satirical look back at the biggest events of the past year.

As well as debates, jokes and silly songs, Sophie Ellis-Bexter will give a music performance.

Jonathan Ross’s New Year Comedy Special

Jonathan Ross welcomes 2023 in with a stand up special from some of the UK’s best comedy talent, plus a special musical performance from The Ezra Collective.

The comedians hoping to get you laughing your way into the new year include Bill Bailey, Tom Allen, Judi Love, Babatunde Aleshe and Sindhu Vee.

Jools’s Annual Hootenanny

BBC Two, 11.30pm

It wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve without Jools Holland singing Auld Lang Syne in the background of your party plans.

Jools and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra welcome musical guests with some 2022 bangers and some old favourites. George Ezra will sing his 2022 hit Green, Green Grass and a Van Morrison cover, Self Esteem will perform one of her songs and Diana Ross will belt out a classic.

Other musical guests include Cat Burns, Andy Fairweather Low, Roland Gift of Fine Young Cannibals, Gabrielle, the Real Thing, Rachael & Vilray and Ruby Turner, plus The Pipes and Drums of the First Battalion Scots Guard.
