We are delighted to announce that submissions are now open for the RTS East Programme Awards 2024!

If you work in the eastern region's broadcasting industry – from film to TV, games, digital and craft production – RTS East wants to hear from you.

Submissions are now invited for entries into this year's awards with 15 different categories to choose from.

Our annual awards are the opportunity to gather industry people from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire to recognise and celebrate the best content filmed or produced in the east of England in the last year.

This year we will be hosting the RTS East awards ceremony at the historic Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge, on 21st June, 2024.

Criteria

  1. You are invited to submit programmes, video, film or other content which were distributed, screened, streamed, broadcast and/or published on any platform between 1st January and 31st December 2023 for consideration for the Royal Television Society East Centre Awards for 2024.
  2. Programmes or content must have been produced, published, commissioned or creatively controlled by an East based company or organisation or must have been at least principally shot in the East (55%) (East Region for the purposes of these Awards includes Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.)
  3. All entries should be put forward as transmitted and without further internal edits or post broadcast or post-delivery edits.   
  4. Each entry must be submitted online by following this link: https://awardsentry.rts.org.uk/entrant. Please ensure you complete all of the sections.   
  5. A 30 second clip of each entry must be submitted in addition to the entry. If you are entering the same piece of work into more than one category, please ensure you submit a different 30 second clip for each entry. If your entry is nominated, this clip will be used as part of the presentation at the awards dinner, so please ensure it showcases your entry effectively. Please note this is not the awards entry, this is purely for use within the awards night presentation.   
  6. There is an Entry Fee of £60 plus VAT.  If a programme is entered in one or more categories, a payment is required for each category entered. Payment details will be provided at time of entry.
  7. The closing date for entries is Friday 15th March 2024.  Entries received after this date will not be considered.  
  8. Each category will be judged by 3 independent judges. The Judges reserve the right to move submissions to more appropriate categories if necessary.
  9. RTS East strongly encourages diversity, in all its forms, across all categories. In common with other RTS awards, entrants should bear in mind in selecting their entries that judges are asked to ensure that these awards reflect diversity within the industry and within wider society.  
  10. You may enter your work whether or not you are a member of the RTS.  
  11. Nominees will be announced week commencing Monday 27th May 2024. Tickets for the awards evening will go on sale at this time.
