This year the Anthony H. Wilson Memorial Lecture will be delivered by David Liddiment. The annual lecture, which celebrates the vision and ambitions associated with Tony Wilson, was first given by Russell T. Davies in 2007.

David Liddiment is not only an important figure in the success of the industry here in the North West, but also on a national and international stage. His passion for all things television, and backing the creative vision across all genres, are well documented. As the landscape of television continues to change at an astonishing rate, David will speak to what we can all learn from the golden days of Granada, how we should back and encourage creativity at all costs, and consider how broadcasters can best stimulate and celebrate regional programming. There may also be one or two anecdotes about working with Tony on The Other Side of Midnight too.

Nicola Shindler will conduct a post lecture Q&A; and then there will be the opportunity for networking drinks. An evening in which we can truly celebrate the creativity, past and present in our region.

The event take place on 7th June 2023, doors open 6pm for a 6:30pm start, and is located in The Museum at Manchester Hall, 36 Bridge Street, Manchester, M3 3BT.

Tickets are priced: £25 for a full ticket; £15 RTS Member ticket; £10 Student Ticket.
