Event Summary

The most talked about and anticipated project of some time is beginning to take shape and the RTS TVC is proud to host one of the first talks by people directly involved in making the vision a reality.

Paul Clennell, CTO, MediaCityUK will articulate the short and long-term vision for the project, as well as discuss who's coming to the complex and explore the technical aspects of the studios, service proposition and telecommunications infrastructure.

Mark Covell, Head of External Affairs, BBC North at MediaCityUK, will talk about the BBC's plans within MediaCityUK. This is the biggest move in the BBC's history and will see five departments moving from London, as well as around 700 staff from BBC Manchester. The departments moving from London are Children, Sport, 5 Live, Learning and parts of Future Media and Technology. Having been handed over on time and on budget, the BBC is currently fitting out its buildings for operational use to begin in around a year's time.

With supporting materials such as videos, a power point presentation, DVD and handouts, this evening should answer many of your questions about the project and is the perfect opportunity to learn about what further opportunities lie within this project.
