Comedian Mo Gilligan is the latest star to broadcast his own show from home, with Mo Gilligan’s All Star Happy Hour.

What happened in series one?

Series one introduced journalist Tony (Ricky Gervais), a man whose life is turned upside down when his wife Lisa (Kerry Godliman) dies from breast cancer.

Overtaken by grief and unable to move on, Tony considers suicide but instead decides to live a life doing and saying whatever he wants, regardless of who he offends.

Talking to his therapist, he remarks that a good day for him is "when he doesn’t want to shoot random strangers and then turn the gun on himself”.

The Central Park Five

This documentary examines the case of The Central Park Five, which was recently turned into a Netflix drama miniseries called When They See Us.

The shocking and heartbreaking documentary tells the story of a 28-year-old white female jogger, Trisha Meili, who was beaten, raped and left for dead in New York’s Central Park in 1989.

Five young black and Latino boys aged 14-16 years old were accused and convicted of the crime.

When Disney announced that its eagerly awaited streaming service, Disney+, would launch in the UK and Western Europe in March no one knew that the service’s debut would coincide with a global pandemic keeping millions of people at home.

“With much of the UK looking for entertainment while they are stuck at home, Disney+ is likely to be a big hit,” said Shiv Pabari, director of media and entertainment at Simon-Kucher & Partners. “Families, in particular, will be excited by the content offered.”

While we may have seen the Premier League grind to a halt last week, fans can still get their football fix via this Netflix drama about the birth of the modern game.

Each of the gang have their own area of makeover expertise, Jonathan Van Ness is in charge of grooming; Tan France, fashion; Karamo Brown, culture; Antoni Porowski, food and wine, and Bobby Berk focuses on interior design.

Series six will see the five head to Texas – with a base in Austin – to “scour the prairie in a search for a whole new roster of heroes in need of a little TLC."

The five haven’t just showcased their talents in the US, a special spin off series saw them travel to Japan to spread some self-love and unleash their makeover skills.

Whether it’s the spike in sales of canned Marks & Spencer gin and tonic or Google searches of priests – both inspired by season two of Fleabag – never underestimate TV’s power to influence people’s behaviour. Yet, sometimes, it is the smallest detail of a TV series that can effect a change in someone’s life.

Joining Netflix’s host of original podcasts, storytelling series Because I Watched looks back through the screen of the latest binge-watch and into the lives of viewers at home.

Described as a dating show with a difference, it sees a group of single men date a group of single women, but the twist comes in that they are only allowed to talk to each other in special pods that prevent them from seeing what the other person looks like.

This tests if they can form a strong emotional connection before a physical connection is made.

The couples who fall in love then get within the first ten days and only then do they get to see their fiancé for the first time.

Accompanying the announcement was a picture of the screenplay for the first episode entitled ‘Killing No Murder’, written by Ronan Bennett.

It will technically be the fourth series after the first two were billed as Top Boy: Summerhouse when Netflix revived the franchise last year.

Netflix also confirmed that Dushane (Ashley Walters), Sully (Kane Robinson), Jamie (Michael Ward) and Shelley (Simbi Ajikawo, better known as Little Simz) will all return.

The 80s-inspired sci-fi series garnered widespread admiration when it first appeared in 2016 and has since become one of Netflix’s most watched programmes.

The third series saw Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Hopper uncover the secret Russian network hidden below Hawkins’ Starcourt Mall, with the help of the ‘Scoop Troops’ Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Erica (Priah Ferguson).
