Student Awards 2011

RTS London held the Student Awards at ITV studios on 25th January 2011. Over 80 students and their lecturers attended to not only see the entries but also to hear comments from practicing producers / directors - Sam Hanna, Darcia Martin. and Lynne Pritchard talking about the first steps both creative and business for them – and for those joining the wide work of Television and film.

There was a strong set of entries in three categories this year – but there were no programmes nominated in the Entertainment category.

David Thomas (Chair RTS London) introduced the event and handed over to Terry Marsh and Kristin Mason who ran the evening.

After the viewings and awards there was an opportunity for the students to meet and questions many of those working in Television.

The RTS Student Television Awards recognise the best audiovisual work created by by full- or part-time students as part of their course - its is organised in each centre arround the UK .The winners in each centre go to the National Awards later in the year.
