Greg Davies and Alex Horne are ready to reign over another five comedians in the upcoming series of Taskmaster, as Channel 4 sets the date for the series premiere.

Sat before the tyrant, Davies, and his long-suffering assistant Horne, will be Julian Clary (Friday Night Live), actor, writer and stand-up Lucy Beaumont (Meet the Richardsons), multi-award-winning stand-up Sam Campbell, comedian and former Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins, and actor, writer and director Susan Wokoma (Cheaters).

The multi-award-winning format will remain the same, throwing the five participants into trivial tasks as they compete for the Taskmaster's hard-won approval. Among the tasks Horne has cooked up for this series are: giant duck wrangling, fresh sausage designing and googly-eyed gang creation.

After 10 gruelling episodes, only one worthy contestant will rise from their small chair to collect the coveted golden trophy.

Taskmaster first aired on Dave in 2015 before Channel 4 bought the rights to the show in 2020. It has now been running for 15 series and will keep running until at least 2026.

Series 16 of Taskmaster will start on 21 September 2023 at 9.00pm on Channel 4.
