This includes Michael Cera (Superbad) as the titular Scott Pilgrim, a 23-year-old bass guitarist in the band ‘Sex Bob-Omb’, Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) as Julie Powers, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Wolf Lake) as Scott's manic-pixie love interest Ramona Flowers, and Succession’s Kieran Culkin as Scott's roommate Wallace Wells.
The 2010 live action film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, directed by Edgar Wright of 'Three Flavours Cornetto' fame, also won a cult following, both for Wright's typically kinetic and frenetic touch which borrowed from video games, manga and martial arts movies, and its all-star cast.
As announced in March 2023, the stars are aligning again to voice their same characters in the new anime, entitled Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
The sixth series, says Netflix, will be "the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet."
Speaking to Tudum, Brooker, who has once again written, created and executive produced the series, explained: "Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect.
