Matthew Macfadyen returns for the final series of period drama Ripper Street.
Following the shocking murder of Inspector Bennet Drake, outlaws Edmund Reid, Homer Jackson and Long Susan join forces to avenge the death of their old friend - despite being hunted by the police themselves.
The Collection is an eight-part series from Lookout Point, the Production Company behind popular shows such as Ripper Street and upcoming BBC period drama War and Peace.
The drama is being created, written, and executive produced by Ugly Betty showrunner Oliver Goldstick, whose work also includes the popular American TV show, Pretty Little Liars. Joining Goldstick are Emmy Award-winning director Dearbhla Walsh (The Tudors) and BAFTA-winning producer Selwyn Roberts (Parade’s End).
In a smooth transition, the personable Polly Hill has become the BBC’s new Controller of Drama Commissioning. She takes over without so much as dropping a script from LA-bound Ben Stephenson.
Her new job is one of the most coveted and powerful positions in UK television. Hill is responsible for the wide range of drama across BBC One and BBC Two, an estimated budget of £200m annually, spiced with the challenge of devising a new online policy, principally for BBC Three. She also has oversight of EastEnders, Casualty and Holby City.
